Welcome back, dear readers:
Welcome to this special update featuring the news of the last two weeks. Sometimes work piles up and it’s hard to find a moment to catch up. But well, here we are! A bunch of cool games have been released and Games From Spain is facing a new stage of the event season, this time in Japan and Barcelona almost at the same time.
Games From Spain joined Tokyo Game Show 2024 to reaffirm the presence of the Spanish video game industry in Japan. Twelve prestigious companies are presenting their projects to the professional public and gamers, including several of those who attended Gamescom last month.
Take a walk around the trade fair, you may find many other Spanish studios and developers!
Prior to the main event, on September 25, Games From Spain held the Spain Game Matsuri, a networking event for video game studios and publishers to present their games. Legendary developers Goichi Suda and Kenichi Nishi were invited guests.
Focusing on small developers, Indie Dev Day will be held this very weekend in Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain). The event, which kicks off today, will bring together professionals from around the world to explore areas as diverse as game design, sound and translation and localization. Attendees will be able to meet experts from Larian Studios, 3D artist Kenney, Japanese developer Hidetaka Suehiro and Conrad Roset, creative director of Gris y Neva, among other incredible guests.
The Game Kitchen and Team17 revealed the first images of Blasphemous 2: Mea Culpa, the first DLC for this spine-chilling metroidvania game inspired by the Andalusian Holy Week. It will arrive on Steam and consoles on October 31st, 2024.
