Welcome back, visitor! Another hot Summer Friday, here we are to bring you the most relevant news on Spanish game development and industry happenings. Let’s get started:
First things first, we recently confirmed some major companies attending Gamescom 2024 with us. This trade fair, held every August in Cologne (Germany), is the most important one in Europe for video game professionals. One more year, we’re proud to support our talented dev teams and publishers, whose incredible games will dazzle both investors and players. If you’re coming, find them at Hall 10.2 (booth E039) and, from Wednesday to Friday, in the business area in Hall 4.1 (booth C041).
More names will come out next week, stay tuned to our socials. See you in Cologne from August 21 to 26!
Tesura allies with worldwide publisher SOEDESCO to distribute their upcoming physical games. This agreement grants Tesura the exclusivity of physical distribution on Nintendo Switch and next gen consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S) in Spain, starting with Orange Season, Garden Witch Life, Petit Island, Magical Bakery, Albatroz and Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror. Release dates are yet to be confirmed.
Cosmic Noise studio launches today its first game, Death Nomad, a survival roguelike game where players must fight to survive a zombie apocalypse. To do so, they will have to go out and explore for resources, confront the infected, fortify their base with stronger walls and new anti-zombie traps. It will remind you of popular tiles like Project Zomboid or 7 Days to Die.
Out of the Blue Games is working with publisher Shadowlands on an adventure for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game. Call of the Sea: The Everhart Expedition, will be a prequel to Call of the Sea and will delve into the events leading up to Norah’s journey. This campaign will put us in the shoes of Harry Everhart, who leaves his home in search of a cure for the illness affecting his wife.
Miniature farming sim Tiny Garden has been 700% funded on Kickstarter — this is, more than €30,000 euros above their original goal of €5,000. According to Ao Norte, the game is expected to arrive on Steam in the first quarter of 2025. Congratulations to the team for this great success!
Pendulo Studios, creators of Blacksad: Under The Skin, teased a new game on X. The tweet includes an image of Egyptian geroglyphs illuminated by fire, which has led fans to believe that it could be a new Tintin game. It could be a sequel to his previous third-person adventure, Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh.
Following its appearance in several TV programs, the alleged Roman baptistery built during the 1st century in Las Gabias (Granada, Spain) became famous in a matter of years. So it was the family to which this underground construction belonged. But, undoubtedly, the one we remember most is Encarna Rojas, the affable woman who became part of our popular culture with a simple rhetorical question: «Who wouldn’t like a 1st century Roman Empire?«.
Last month, a small dev team set out to turn this story into a survival horror video game with low-poly graphics. Baptisterio: El Videojuego, is live on Kickstarter and it has reached 100% of its funding goal (€6,000) in just 3 days. From now on, it remains to be seen whether or not the team manages to achieve their optional goals, featuring a map expansion and the implementation of a VR mode.
