Welcome back, regulars and visitors:
Another peaceful week in the Spanish videogame industry is coming to an end, with the return of Sword of the Necromancer as the highlight. This lack of new game launches is allowing us to reduce our backlog and prepare for what’s to come in the next few months. The return of The Game Kitchen is just around the corner, and there are at least 4 more confirmed releases on different platforms.
But it’s not all about releases, you know! This week, we’ve received interesting updates on some video game events soon to be celebrated in our country. On the one hand, we learned that tech lead company Meta will hold an on-site event for video game professionals in Barcelona. It’s aimed at studios and solo devs who’re currently developing a project for PC, consoles and mobile platforms, or expect to get it started soon.
The 3-day event will take place in the last week of March. There, Meta experts will offer some practical knowledge on how to improve their user acquisition strategies and creativity to keep growing in this hyper competitive, ever-changing market. Also, there will be room for personal consultancy and networking.
Hurry up and secure your tickets for Meta’s Gaming Program, the registration period is about to end.
On the other hand, Guadalindie has revealed Mark Brown and the musician Paula «Fingerspit» Ruiz as the first two guests for their second edition, which will take place on 3-4 May in Malaga (Andalusia). Mark Brown is the journalist and developer behind Game Maker’s Toolkit, a must-watch YouTube channel for game investigators and developers. As for Paula, you may have heard her work in Deconstructeam’s games such as The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood and The Red Strings Club. A third guest, which it has been suggested could be two people, will be revealed later today, so stay tuned!
The pocket-size farming sim Tiny Garden, by Ao Norte and Super Rare Originals, will be released on April 8, 2025. Nurture tiny plants, trade them for furniture, and customize your space in this relaxing mix of gardening, puzzles, and strategy. Don’t forget to add it to your wishlist on Steam!
The beloved action RPG Sword of the Necromancer is back with its 3D remake Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection, where you will once again wield this legendary weapon to help Tama rescue Koko from death. Reach the depths of the dungeon while turning your foes into allies and defeat the guardians to gain enough soul power to bring Koko back. Whatever it takes…
SotN Resurrection (Grimorio of Games, JanduSoft) is now available digitally on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Fight with all your might!
Last but not least, there’s a special mention to Zerouno Games. We didn’t notice in time, but their upcoming top-down shooter The Zebra-Man is finally releasing on January 30th! It will arrive on Steam and all consoles day one.
This bloody game will delight all those who enjoyed Hotline Miami and Grindhouse films, both visually and through its game feel. In The Zebra-Man, a stranger in a raccoon mask rescues you from an experimental facility in exchange for murdering a certain someone. Track him down inside the facility and keep your side of the deal, killing every living thing in your path. Don’t worry, no one is going to judge you here…
And that’s all for today, folks! Remember to subscribe to our mailing list to receive our monthly recaps. Also, keep in touch with us via social media – you’ll find us on Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. See you next week, happy gaming!
