Spanish Games News Roundup: Mar 10-23, 2025

New announcements directly from GDC!

Welcome back, regulars and visitors!

Remember what we told you a couple of weeks ago? With the arrival of the international trade fairs, an exciting period of announcements and game releases begins. And we have a lot of awesome news to share, along with an extensive list of short games that you can enjoy this very weekend if you feel like it. Let’s get started right away!

Game Announcements

During yesterday’s Future Game Show, we learned about the new horror game by Path Games, creators of Insomnis – Dark Mass, an underwater survival game set in a haunted manor. Explore the ruins of this sunken building and flee from a curse trapped within for centuries. It’s a choice-based adventure, so be careful with your actions if you don’t want to join the lost souls of the abyss…

The co-op cozy adventure Hidalgo (Infinite Thread Games), inspired by Don Quixote and Sancho’s journey across La Mancha, will arrive on Kickstarter next week. Ride on the back of Rocinante through beautiful cardboard landscapes, defeating legendary enemies and searching for the beautiful Dulcinea. As you enjoy a new vision for this classic of Spanish literature, you will discover fragments of a sweet and emotional family story.

Vegangsters, by Poison Pill Games, will arrive on Steam in June 2025! Face deadly criminals in this deck-building roguelike game where each card defines the pace of the battle. Play as Inspector Patt, or Patt Detective – each featuring different mechanics, playstyle and initial deck. But fighting crime doesn’t just mean beating up gangsters, you’ll also have to show up around town and make new allies through various random events.

New Releases

Cataclismo (Digital Sun, Hooded Horse)

The full version of Cataclismo, Digital Sun’s tower defense game, arrives on Steam! It was successfully launched last year on Early Access and now you can enjoy all its features – a 20-hour campaign full of challenges, a Survival Mode and its own level editor. Design and build fortresses brick by brick to stand against endless hordes of Horrors in real time battles with resource management, siege defense, and exploration. Lead from the ramparts, push back the darkness, and hold fast against the creatures of the Mist. It’s time to save Hogar!

KinnikuNeko: SUPER MUSCLE CAT (Kamotachi)

Help KinnikuNeko, a cat with a bodybuilder’s body, and his friends Lemon and Keita stop an alien invasion in a story full of goofy humor, friendship, drama and action. The fearsome General Pitaya won’t make it easy for you! This colorful 2D platformer will certainly remind you of some funny anime series from the 90s.

Nomad Defender (Dhelpra Games)

Escape from the high-tech prison you’ve been held in after playing a shady tower defense game installed on an old abandoned computer. An evil program wants to make you its test subject, you must hurry and escape! Get a deck of cards powerful enough to destroy its minions and bypass the defenses of their headquarters.

Saint Crawler (Diego Freire)

Ex-Chibig’s narrative designer and marketing lead Diego Freire surprised us with this little experiment he published on Itch.io last week. In this creation, players will walk their own path to sanctification through a mysterious labyrinth that should lead you to God himself. You’ll meet other saints, martyrs, some mythical creatures, and even the Virgin Mary. Some will support you, others will do whatever it takes to tear you apart. Likewise, you’ll be able to explore what would happen if you decided to seek your own power and confront Him…

Time Flipper (Lusho Games)

In a far away land, there’s one man that can switch between past and future – you. Explore an immersive ever-changing world and use of your Time Flip device to save people from dangerous interdimensional entities that tried to abduct them. It’s your only weapon, but the best you can have if you know how to make the most of it. Team up with companions that will cover your back with their own special abilities. Be careful though, there will be resistance!

Rush The Towers (Ian Jowe)

Attack and destroy enemy towers to conquer 8 different maps, and make this world yours with the power of strategy! Don’t be overconfident, you will only have a small group of warriors to carry out this task.

Dipets (Roberto Luquero)

Imagine being able to enter the world of Pokemon and the creatures you loved in your childhood, wouldn’t it be amazing? That’s what happened to Cakin, but with a weird and mysterious twist. In the world of Dipets, the once-thriving and crowded Pixel City is completely deserted. All the monsters left their homes after losing their memories. Can you help our hero discover what’s happening?

Into Death And Beyond (Dolores Entertainment)

As bounty hunter Mark Helkins, explore the hostile planet XB32 ENT, scavenge for resources, solve puzzles, and confront terrifying mutants. Unravel the dark secrets of this strange world and capture a rogue alien before it hunts you down. Resources like plasma ammunition and health kits are quite limited, so make sure to use the wisely. Will you survive?

Mobbing Simulator (Inés Alcolea)

Novel game designer Inés Alcolea, developer of System, invites us to explore as players the worst side of the video game industry — that of job insecurity, crunch culture and mobbing. In Mobbing Simulator, we become someone who has recently passed the trial period and faces their first real day on the job. A working day that will end as late as you, player, allow it to.
