Hello everybody!
We know, we know, we are in the middle of a heat wave and those of us that are trapped in the big cities don’t have much to do… except playing video games under the cool stream of an AC, right? Well, if you’re looking for news about Spanish video games and the Spanish video games industry, you’ve come to the right place!
The good people at The Game Kitchen (remember, the ones behind The Last Door and Blasphemous) just started their new crowdfunding campaign. As we reported last week, All on Board! is a VR game that recreates the experience of sitting around a table with your friends to play board games. The game is a VR platform powered by user-generated content for the Meta Quest and SteamVR compatible devices where players will be able to enjoy an endless supply of board games with mods created by the community using an intuitive and easy to use editor. The game only needed 48 hours to hit its funding goal of almost 25.000 euros. Congratulations!
All on Board!‘s release is still away, but you can play some new Spanish games this week! So far, we have three new releases. Superola is a challenging runner-style platforming adventure, in which you’ll have to guide a burger loving llama in its quest to defeat the Hotdog Aliens and recover the stolen hamburgers… before they get cold! The game is out for PC and consoles, has been developed by Undercoders and published by Jandusoft.
You can also check Running on Magic, a forced-scroll platformer where a quirky wizard is being chased by a tireless Grim Reaper. Hurry through procedurally-generated mindfully drawn environments as you defeat unalike enemies and don’t let the Grim Reaper get to you! The game by Gusarapo Games and published by Meteorbyte Studios is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Xbox.
Last, Mojito The Cat: Woody’s rescue has been released on Nintendo Switch. Developed by GTZAStudio, the game is a cute puzzle platformer adventure inspired by Super Mario Odyssey where you play as Mojito and try to help the cat to find his best dog friend, Woody, who disappeared with all his trophies when a suspicious storm hit their island.
One last piece of news, as this week we also got word from Indie GG, a place for Spanish indie games to be showcased during the Tenerife GG event, that has been held during July 13-15. Indie GG also held and award ceremony to showcase the best games featured during the event. Some of the winners were The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo (Best Indie Game, Best Art and Best Soundtrack), IDEA: The Game (Innovation Award and Business Plan Award), and Bigger Than Me(Best Gameplay).
That’s all for this week! We hope you stay cool and and enjoying some Spanish video games. See you in a few days and do not forget to follow us on social media!
